Pokémon come in so many different types, but what is seriously missing from Pokédex is obviously a dinosaur type!
Pokémon features such a large and diverse collection of creatures that were created and inspired by many of the animals on Earth or that once lived there. There are a number of Pokémon which are very similar to the ancient and extinct reptiles that used to live on our planet, known as dinosaurs.

A total of 900 types of Pokémon have been released. While dinosaurs have not been added, many of the designs have been influenced by these ancient reptiles. The following are the 7 most popular fossil and dinosaur Pokémon in the entire series.
Volcanion
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y add Volcanion as one of the newest members of Generation VI.
This pokemon was the second type of fire-water Pokémon, and it also played a major role in the Movie Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, where it harbored hatred for humankind. It is true that this Pokémon may not look as dinosaur-like as some of its other counterparts at first glance, but without worrying too much about the round part of its back, it has the potential to look like one.
Tyranitar
Pokémon Tyranitar was introduced in generation two. As one of the most powerful creatures in the franchise, Tyranitar is of the rock and dark type.
Tyranitar is bipedal like Tyrannosaurus Rex and takes its inspiration from the fictional monster Godzilla as well as dinosaurs such as that one. The creature is extremely powerful, capable of destroying mountains and burying rivers when enraged. In addition, it has a mega evolution and has the ability to learn high-level moves such as hyper beam and Giga impact before reaching level 60.
Garchomp
Garchomp was originally thought to be a legendary Pokémon, but this has been proven false. Despite being a monster of 6’3, this Pokémon seems to have merged both dragon and dinosaur attributes. It is obvious that this Pokémon has a dinosaur-like design.
Rampardos
The Rampardos Pokémon is a rock-type fossil Pokémon introduced in generation 4 of the franchise. The creature resembles Pachycephalosaurus in both its thick head and limb structures.
Developing from Cranidos at level 30, Rampardos is a rock type with the quality of being able to learn moves like zen headbutts and head smashes, which use its robust skull. In the same way, it can also learn powerful moves like ancient power and stone edge.
Bastiodon
In Generation Four of the franchise, Batstiodon is a rock and steel type and has the opposite appearance to Rampardos. This Pokémon is similar to the Zuncineratops and Triceratops in that it has a thrill and horns like those of the former.
Upon reaching the level of 30, Bastiodon emerges from Shieldon and possesses considerable power. It is possible for Bastiodon to learn both iron head and heavy slam before he reaches level 60.
Dracozolt
As a new legendary Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise, Dracozolt has also been introduced in Generation VIII as well as the Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra DLC.
There is a “fossil Pokémon” that is a dual-type Pokémon that is of the electric and dragon types. The Pokémon possesses the signature tiny T-Rex hands, large feet, and long tail of dinosaurs. Not to mention it’s literally a “fossil” Pokémon – that alone is sufficient proof!
Carracosta
On the surface, no one could have predicted that Tirtouga would evolve into Carracosta, purely based on how unthreatening the little turtle Pokémon seemed.
Carracosta is water and rock-type that has details reminiscent of dinosaurs * and turtles, on which it is mainly based. Nevertheless, some dinosaurs, such as Carbonemys, did look like turtles or vice-versa.
