Diddy is doing a great job in empowering the culture, and today he embarks on a new journey. The music mogul is opening a charter school in Harlem which is his hometown. The Capital Preparatory Harlem School will be open in the Fall of 2016. It took Diddy five years to find educational leaders and community leaders to make it happen. Diddy says creating the school ”is a dream come true.” The Bad Boy owner quotes “I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders, “The first step is offering access to a quality education.”
The School will be overseen by Capital Preparatory Schools founder Dr. Steve Perry who has founded other schools in previous years. Diddy trusts Perry because of his experience and chemistry with the kids. Diddy has hand selected Danita Jones to serve under the principal role as well. The school will be located on East 104 street and 5th avenue, and is currently accepting applications for 6th and 7th graders. For now the school plans to enroll 160 kids in the two grades, but eventually will enroll 700 kids from 6th through 12th. Ladies and Gentleman Diddy has earned our RESPECT!
